Jian Zhang, MBBS, PhD

Dr. Jian Zhang is an Associate Chief Physician (Associate Professor) at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, The Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University.

As a Surgeon-Scientist, Dr. Zhang integrates clinical excellence with translational research:

• Clinical Expertise: He specializes in minimally invasive radical surgeries (Robotic & Laparoscopic) for gastric and colorectal cancer, having participated in over 700 cases.
• Research Focus: His laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms of GI tumors, specifically lncRNAs and Nanomedicine.

Dr. Zhang completed his Ph.D. at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and postdoctoral training in the United States.
